  • 1 kg onions
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 5 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • extra virgin olive oil, to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • parsley, to taste

Onions au gratin with Parmesan cheese


Start from the onions that will be peeled.

In a bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and the grated Parmesan cheese and add also the finely minced parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Now take the onions, cut them in half.

Place them on a baking pan previously greased with oil and sprinkle them well with extra virgin olive oil.

Sprinkle now with the mixture prepared before, pushing a little with a teaspoon. At this point, place your onions in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes. In the last 10 minutes of cooking, use the grill function to have a golden brown surface.

Once ready, serve them with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil when they are still hot.
