Baked Potatoes with Tomato and Mozzarella

A perfect side dish for dinner? Some baked potatoes with tomato and mozzarella will be perfect!

An easy recipe, but a delicious dish, perfect for a steak or some fish. It’s hard to keep from eating them!
Let’s bake it!


  • 500 ml of tomato sauce
  • 250 g of mozzarella
  • 60 g of Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • oregano to taste
  • basil


Preheat oven to 392°F. Wash the potatoes, peel and cut them in slices or in cubes. Try to make slices of the same size for homogenous cooking.

In a pan, add two cloves of minced garlic, onions in slices and some extra virgin olive oil. Add the potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cover the pan and let cook for about 10 minutes.

Add the tomato sauce and some oregano and keep cooking until the potatoes are tender. Put them in a large casserole dish, layer potatoes, some mozzarella slices, grated Parmesan and some basil. Add other potatoes and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and oregano.

Bake at 392°C for about 15 minutes. Serve the dish warm.


The baked potatoes with tomato and mozzarella can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days.

Heat them in the oven or microwave for a few minutes.
