Lemon Chicken Piccata

An exquisite and easy to make recipe that will be perfect for all the family. Tasty lemon, capers sauce and a creamy dish. The Lemon Chicken Piccata is made with simple ingredients that surely you already have on hand.

You can serve it with pasta or simply with some bread. it will always be a great success.

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup 00 flour
  • olive oil to taste (or butter)
  • white wine
  • lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • parsley


First of all make sure that the chicken breasts are skinless and boneless. If you prefer, you can cut them in half lengthwise.

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and then put in the flour. Shake off the excess flour.

Melt some butter or olive oil and add chicken breasts. Let cook for about 4 minutes per side or until they are browned. Once cooked, remove the chicken breasts.

In the same skillet add some lemon juice, capers and let cook for 1 minute. Add some white wine and after a few seconds some 00 flour in order to form a sauce. Season with salt and pepper if needed. Now add the chicken breasts and keep cooking for about 5 minutes. 

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve it hot.

Lemon Chicken Piccata


The Lemon chicken piccata can be stored for a couple of days in the refrigerator inside an airtight container. Warm it again when you decide to eat it.

If this dish will be served to children substitute white wine with chicken stock. 

If you prefer you can blend the capers sauce for a creamier result. Add then chicken breasts and let cook for 1 minute. The dish will be tastier and delicious, perfect for those who don’t like whole capers.
