A baked ham and cheese omelette roll is a particular dish but, at the same time, very easy to make.
A variant of the classic omelette enriched with ham and cheese. It can be served in different variants depending on taste and situations. For example, for a vegetarian version, you can substitute ham with vegetables or use the types of cheese that you prefer, based on the more or less intense flavor you want to give to your dish.
Here is the recipe.
- 6 eggs
- ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese
- salt, to taste
- 200 g cooked ham
- 150 g cheese
Whisk the eggs, cheese, salt and the parsley previously chopped finely. Mix them with a fork or a whisk to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Place a baking sheet previously wet and wrung out on a baking tray and put the previously prepared mixture into the pan. Level it.
Put in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 10-15 minutes or until the surface is brown.
Cover the omelette with a food wrap film. Let it stand in this position for about 10 minutes or until it is very cold.
Turn it over, remove the baking sheet paper used for cooking and stuff with slices of ham and cheese. Wrap it so as to form a perfect roll.
Wrap the roll in the food wrap film and let it stand for about ten minutes so as to compact and keep its shape. Bake again for a few minutes to mel the cheese. Serve in slices.
Store the baked ham and cheese omelette roll in the fridge for up to a couple of days in an airtight container or wrapped in food wrap film. Before serving it again, heat it to melt cheese again.
