The preparation is very simple, few ingredients but a truly extraordinary result. In fact, you will get perfect brioches to fill with jam or various types of creams.
An easy and fast recipe perfect for breakfast or just for a tasty snack during the day.
- 2 cups 00 flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 g yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- chocolate chips
First add all the ingredients inside a bowl, taking care to always choose ingredients at room temperature. In fact, both eggs and milk must be kept at room temperature for at least half an hour. Do the same thing with the butter so that it can be worked perfectly.
Mix all the ingredients in your bowl or in a planetary, a tool that will allow you to significantly reduce the preparation time and therefore get an excellent result in less time.
Now that you have obtained the base dough, put it back in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and then let it rest for two hours in the oven off but with the light on. This way, in fact, your dough will rise, doubling its initial volume.
Only at this point, when the dough has risen perfectly, proceed with the creation of bunnies. Divide the dough into six parts and reduce each ball into a fairly long string. Remove two parts, one of which will be smaller than the other, which will form the tail and head of your bunnies.
The remaining part should be rolled up to form a swivel. This will be placed on a baking sheet previously lined with baking paper. Take the smallest part of brioche set aside and reduce it to a ball. This will be your bunny’s tail.
The remaining part, instead, will first be rolled up, then flattened slightly and then divided in half so as to form the ears and the head of the bunny.
Also this part will be applied on the swivel previously laid on the parchment paper. It is important in both cases to proceed with extreme delicacy.
Then proceed with the decoration adding a chocolate chip to form the eye of your bunny. At this point the brioches will be put back in the oven with the light on for another hour so that they can rise again.
Brush with milk and then place in a preheated oven at 338°F for 15 minutes. Once ready, let cool and decorate them with a colored ribbon, so as to make them cheerful.
The Easter Bunny Brioche can be stored for up to a couple of days under a glass bell or inside an airtight container so that they keep their softness.
Stuff them with jam or cream.
