The Ham and Cheese Muffins are an excellent idea for a different starter, made with a few simple ingredients but that will give life to a really good result, which will please even the youngest.
This is a very simple preparation, which will not take a lot of time for preparation but can be done even before the moment you are going to serve the dish to your guests.
Let’s see, then, how to prepare them and some useful tips for a truly perfect result.
- 3 cups 00 flour
- 1 and ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup seed oil
- 3 eggs
- 200 g of cooked ham
- 120 g of cheese
- 2/3 cup Parmigiano Reggiano
- 1 packet of instant yeast for pies
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Mix together eggs, salt and pepper, milk and oil in a bowl. Whisk until you have achieved a perfectly homogeneous result.
At this point, add the dry ingredients, that are the flour, the yeast previously sifted with a strainer, the Parmesan and mix everything well, always using a whisk. You will get a perfectly smooth batter.
To prepare the filling, reduce the ham into chunks as well as the cheese. Add both ingredients to the previously made batter.
Place the cups in a muffin mold and add, for 2/3 of their capacity, the mixture you just made. Place your muffins with ham in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes.
Once ready, leave aside to warm for about ten minutes before being served to your guests.
Store your Ham and Cheese Muffins for up to a couple of days in an airtight container.
Serve them at room temperature or pass them for a few minutes in a traditional oven or for a few seconds in the microwave.
